BE RESPONSIBLE:
Thank you,
Mrs. Hamilton
BE RESPONSIBLE:
- Be in your seat with all materials, quiet, and ready to begin class on time.
- Bring all required materials to class each day – computer, pen, pencil, math packet, and calculator.
- Turn in all assignments on time. (In-person & online)
- You are responsible for notes, homework, quizzes, and tests for days missed from class.
- You are responsible for your actions.
- Attend Google Meetings on Remote Days
- Keep your hands, feet, and all other objects belonging to you to yourself.
- Respect yourself, your classmates, school property, and all adults.
- Listen while others are talking.
- If on a class-wide Google Meeting, please mute your computer until you want to talk in order to minimize background noise, dress appropriately, sit up, and ensure that I am able to see your entire face.
- Students will most likely be given a verbal warning first, then a conference with a phone call home.
- If a behavior continues to occur, a detention will be assigned with a date for it to be served.
- If a student fails to serve the detention, the discipline progression listed in the handbook will be followed.
- Certain infractions will result in an automatic office referral. Please read over this section of the handbook with your student.
- Computer
- Calculator
- Pencil & Pen
- Math Packet
- Homework is assigned almost daily.
- Work is to be shown on ALL assignments.
- Grading Policy:
- 1.) Students can earn up to 100% on homework that is turned in on time.
- 2.) Any late homework will have points deducted of 50% if turned in before the test for the current Unit of Study.
- 3.) After the test date, work can be turned in, but you will not receive credit. I will record it as “L” for late. Students are encouraged to still turn in the assignments.
- 4.) Any assignment with “MI” means it has not been turned in. This may be due to an absence or because it was just not done. Once the work is turned in, the “MI” will be removed.
- Extra credit will be offered at the end of each unit. Algebra students will also have some extra credit opportunities, but they will not necessarily be at the end of each unit.
- I will follow the grading scale that is listed in the student handbook. 8th Grade Math Weighted Grades 50% Tests 25% Quizzes 25% Homework/Classwork
- I am available to help students during Eagle Time as well as after school.
- All students are welcome to see me for additional assistance when they need it.
- Please do not hesitate to ask for help.
